Argument

9TH NOV 2010 In our lesson we had a discussion about why we think that advertisement was needed there were some contradicting reasons so we decided to turn it into a formal argument. Discussion; What is the point of advertisement:

For:

  • It makes you more aware of the product

  • It makes the product stand out from the rest.

  • The audience remembers the product.

  • It makes the product more appealing

Against:

  • Theres no point of advertising the product because if it is good it would still sell

  • The product would spread by mouth

  • The advert doesn't even talk about the product the advert might put people off the product

      Diary entry:
In this lesson we have gone over everything that we have already done and made sure that all our work was finished smoothed out so there was no gaps.
we also went back to the work done just before the holidays and made sure that we had done the homework which was to look at a disney pixar film and say how it has been advertised to be promoted.
Sir was looking at each of our work to see what had been completed but he did not get around to everyone including me, This lesson i think that i did well but i still have a bit of work to do to make sure that my blog is at a good standard.

The film that i have chosen to analyse is monsters i.n.c. This film is a film for the family so it is a film that can be advertised in a variety of different environments such as cinema,on the side of buses, and t.v commercials. i would also put adverts on youtube and i would publish posters and leaflets to put in the cinemas.

First lesson on unit 4: record

Today was the best lesson wev'e had so far, we had to make a questionnaiare that we would later on use to ask seniour citizens different things. The questions was to help them think deeper about what was on their mind. so that they could write it down on big pieces of white card to take a picture of them. We copied this type of art from a women called gillian wearing, she was born in birmingham and was a art student at chelsea school.
We went to roundwood park so that we could split up into our groups and ask people the questions and take pictures. It was very interesting to listen to what they had to say and it gave me a whole new look on what they thought. One of the students started crying when she heard on of the citizens stories. Everyone we tlked had an captivating story to tell and i left thinking differently about them. This art was inspiratinal.

Me Hyatt and sophia arrange a meeting to sort out all our worries and propblems. We needed to make sure that we all felt confident when we performed our play. So we shared our opinoins about why our group was failing to and why we thought we were getting so unorganised. so together we came up with a plan for thursday of all the things we could do to make sure we were on track so we all use our time wisely. We spent almost an hour talking which benefited us all because we all felt like everything was going to work out.

      preparation for performance

      date:march 4
On the day we were supposed to perform our play, it was cancelled because none of the groups were ready and there were also some people absent. This meant that we postponed the play so that we would have two more weeks to prepare.Because we had time, the first thing my group done was have a meeting to discuss the problems we had and what we could do to solve them we had to sort out what we could do to make the play more creative. The Idea we came up with was to record our dance so that we wouldn't have to perform live on the day, this would make the play more appealing and creative. We also had to sort out the lighting, we needed to know what lights would be necessary for the dance. While we were all doing the things we had discussed, we forgot to write notes which was one of the things we needed to improve on.

MY aim: is to make sure that I am always writing notes.

By the end of the day I felt more confident about the play but one thing that Miss Foster said we needed to do was focus less on the play, the final piece and focus more on our planning and preparation.
